Bill Fritton, The Back Tax Expert
Bill Fritton is the founder and principal of The Back Tax Expert, bringing more than three decades of hands-on experience in tax resolution and IRS negotiation. He joined the firm in 1991 and began his career under the direct mentorship of former IRS Revenue Officers—an experience that shaped his practical, insider-informed approach to resolving complex tax problems. During this time, Bill earned his designation as a certified Enrolled Agent.
Bill’s expertise is grounded in both advanced tax education and real-world business experience. He holds Fellowship status from the National Association of Enrolled Agents Education Foundation and has a strong academic foundation in economics and business strategy. Returning to school as an adult, Bill earned his MBA from the University of Maryland to ensure he could serve clients with a complete, 360-degree perspective—combining tax resolution, IRS negotiation, and a deep understanding of business operations, marketing, and financial decision-making.
Today, Bill leads The Back Tax Expert with a focus on accountability, strategic thinking, and direct client access. His approach ensures that clients are represented by experienced professionals who understand not only the tax code, but also the broader financial realities facing business owners and individuals.
Bill is based at the firm’s Washington, D.C. headquarters.
